PLEASE NOTE! This is the 2010 Quilt Show Schedule.

The quilt show committee is constantly working on our event schedule. Call the museum for the latest updates. The following information will give you a taste of what happens during this annual event.

2010 Show Dates:
First week of August 3 -- September 30, 2010
Hours:
Tuesdays through Saturday 10 am - 4 pm
Closed Sunday, Monday & Major Holidays

Fees:
General Admission $4; Seniors $3; Students $2;
CFM Members & children under 3 are FREE

Quilts, old and new, by professionals and novice quilters, grace the inside of the Coopersville Farm Museum creating a sense of warmth words cannot describe. Experience the 9th annual exhibit of quilts this August and September. The Crazy Ladies Quilting Circle members are very instrumental in scheduling special activities throughout the show. Stop in or call to get more information on the upcoming events:

July 6 - 17 ~ Quilts are due in (no repeat quilts, please)

Director’s Choice (featured exhibit): Sunbonnet Sue (we are allowing quilts that have been shown in prior years to come back in if they qualify for this special exhibit)

Aug 2 Quilter’s Reception 6-8pm
($5 admission, or receive one free admission ticket with submission – see above - of quilt or quilts for the exhibit)

Aug 3 OPENING DAY – Tuesday, 10am – 4pm

Aug 5 Crazy Ladies Quilting & Crazy Quilt Stitch Demo 10-noon

Thursday TEA PARTY 1pm

Aug 10 – 14 SUMMERFEST
General Admission Only $2 – Tractor Show in Parking Lot and on museum grounds all week! Kids Day on Wednesday, August 11. Car Show on Saturday all through town!

($8 fee covers cost of food for the day. No cost to participate. Teams MUST be registered by September 9, 2010. Prizes for all participants.)

QUILTERS RECEPTION

A Quilters’ Reception is held the Monday, August 2 before the opening for a preview of the Quilt’s and Their Stories exhibit.
Tickets are $5.00 each (one ticket provided per registered quilt)
There will be a Silent Auction all night along with light refreshments.

1925 Native American "good fortune" (swastika symbol) quilt. Hidden in storage 70 years because of the Nazi Party's use of the swastika.

Special Events at the annual Quilt Show

2010 QUILT SHOW SPECIAL EVENTS SCHEDULE

Quilter’s Reception
Monday, August 2, 6-8pm $5 admission/ $3 Museum Members
Each person showing a quilt or quilts will receive one free admission ticket.  Enjoy a sneak peek of the quilt exhibit and meet the quilters.  Refreshments.  Live music by Shari Manshaem.  Advance tickets available.

Summerfest Special Admission
August 10-14, 10am-4pm, $2 admission
During Coopersville’s Summerfest Celebration, we offer special $2 admission prices and special events at the Coopersville Farm Museum.  No parking available in museum lot Thursday-Saturday due to the Tractor Show.  Del Shannon Memorial Car Show takes over downtown all day Saturday too.  Parking available behind Main Street shops or at the Coopersville Area District Library & Community Park (both within a block or two of the museum.)  Special Kids Day on Wednesday includes petting zoo, macramé, rope making, and activities.

Quilter’s Marathon Day
September 23, Saturday, 8am-5pm, $8 for lunch
The Coopersville Farm Museum Quilter’s Marathon is a unique challenge that matches teams of 4 quilters against other teams to determine who can produce the most complete, most attractive, and creative quilted project, with the best workmanship, in a period of eight hours.  Teams must be registered by Sept. 9, 2010. Call or email to receive an outline of the event or to register your team.

Long Arm Quilting Seminar with Darla Parks
September 23, Thursday, Museum open 6pm - 9pm today!
Seminar @ 7pm ($5 adult, $4 senior, $3 children 12 & under, $3 members) Learn about the tools to assist you with Gammill Long Arm Quilting projects from long arm quilting expert, Darla Parks, owner of Elegant Stitches.

Last Hoorah!

A special evening to celebrate the world of quilting.  Silent Auction, Door prizes, refreshments.  Tickets available now for $5 each..

*Fee schedule effective January 1, 2009. There may be fees associated with workshops or special guest lectures. Coopersville Farm Museum Members receive reduced or waived admission fees and reduced workshop rates. Call to receive a membership information packet.

The Coopersville Farm Museum is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations are tax deductible according to IRS regulations. Please contact your tax advisor to determine the deductibility according to your particular situation.
